About 14th Colony
January 26th, 2008
14th Colony is the notepad and soapbox for Randall McCarley for SEO and online promotion topics. Promotion services are available by quote.
Randall McCarley has been involved in marketing and promotion for more than 10 years. He started with graphic design and desktop publishing. His involvement with print production got him a position as regional manager and trainer for the start-up Copy City in th mid 90’s.
In the late 90’s Randall teamed up with IT professionals and co-founded Genghis Consulting which offered boutique IT services to clients in Sacramento. Randall managed the company marketing and soon Genghis Consulting offered website design, branding and more promotional services to enhance its IT offerings.
In 2003, the founders of Genghis Consulting launched Airtop Wireless Broadband to provide point-to-point broadband services to Sacramento businesses. Randall served as the company marketing director and also helped install wireless equipment on radio towers throughout the Sacramento Valley. By late 2003, Airtop had the second largest commercial wireless network in the world with a backhaul that spanned Rocklin to West Sacramento.
In October of 2004 the decision was made to merge Genghis Consulting and Airtop Wireless Broadband. Randall left the company soon after and was brought on by Consolidated Pump & Supply, a major distributor of waterwell products in the Western United States. At Consolidated Pump & Supply, Randall was responsible for the creation and distribution of all marketing products including monthly mailings, a new product catalog and websites for the company’s three divisions.
In March of 2006, Randall formed 14th Colony to offer website design and promotion services to an international client base. The majority of 14th Colony clients are small to medium sized businesses in the United States that want a great presentation and follow-up promotion through Search Engine Optimization.
Randall has worked with thousands of businesses to help their marketing needs. He has developed branding for hundreds of businesses including logo desig and slogans. He has also launched hundreds of websites, often as a “first launch” opportunity for companies unsure how to bring their business online. And worked with dozens of startups to help them plan their marketing activities and budgets.
Currently, Randall lives in Sacramento with his wife and daughter. He volunteers as the West Coast Mission Into Action Manager for the Sterling Institute, based in Oakland California. And he moderates for SEO Refugee, a forum for online business owners, web developers and SEOs.
Randall enjoys reading, learning and discovering better ways to build and promote businesses.
