How powerful is a blog?

I’m running through my stats for the month and the first thing I notice is a big increase in traffic. Some time today I’ll beat the amount of unique visitors I had for the whole month of July. And some time next week I’ll beat the traffic I had for August.
The next pleasant surprise is the traffic going to the blog which has over 3 times the views of the site home page.
That’s impressive.
Especially since that is just counting page views through the site and not the number of views coming through the site feed so the amount of people reading this is more like 4-5 times the views of the home page.
So this blog which is only a couple weeks old has already grabbed more attention than my site home page and the interviews serries I did - combined! Scout has claimed a massive 35% of my viewing traffic.
What’s really crazy is I haven’t done much to promote it other than launch it, make sure I’m pinging the right places and drop it in my sig file at a couple forums like this one and this one. Oh, and I have played with some of the FeedBurner options.
Pretty simple for such a rich payoff. Consider me hooked! ![]()
