Scratching his back

I want to take a minute to talk about a friend of mine named Doug Holland. Doug is the owner of Branson Critic Magazine and general good guy… which is nice since he makes SUVs look compact.
Doug was kind enough to spend some time as one of my interviews . And his wife recently sent me a couple messages about how beautiful my baby girl is. And now Doug has started a new venture called Reflexology Nation which I’m sure will also be a huge success like Branson Critic (they are announcing their third annual awards show this week!).
Doug recently asked:
Anyone know the latest on how long a new site takes for indexing in [Google]?
Now this is a great question and one that comes up fairly often on the forums. I pointed him to my article Get Indexed Fast, which describes several methods of encouraging the search engines to send spiders to your site sooner than later.
This is important because most web sites online are found through Google, Yahoo! or MSN. When people know what they want but not where to find it they hit the search engines first - before consulting the yellow pages and even before asking their friends and associates in many cases.
If your site isn’t listed in these search engines your business isn’t operating as efficiently as it should be and for new sites, traffic is essential.
One way to get the search engines to crawl your site faster is by getting good links pointing at it. So there you go Doug, good luck with the new venture and I hope my link helps your cause!
