About Domain Names

One of the more frustrating aspects of web development is figuring out the right domain name. Sometimes it is very easy like a company name but what do you do if that is already registered by someone else? Or what if you are starting from scratch?
So begins a special 5-part article about domain names. After years of experience I have learned several lessons the hard way that I am happy to pass along. This series started as a single blog-post but once I started writing I knew I had to do something else.
You can get quick tips for choosing a domain , learn about domain name trends, discover the truth behind memorable domain names, learn how to protect your domain, and pick up some advanced tips that are mainly good for SEO.
If you are starting a new site this series is a “must read”.
Happy hunting! :-)

Thanks Miriam. It is an important and often overlooked or overanalyzed area. Geez the stories I could tell about how I learned all of this. Maybe I’ll write a sitcom someday…
