…and who the heck are you?
Please take a moment to introduce yourself! I’ll go first.
I’m Randall McCarley, founder of 14th Colony. I have a strong background in design, print, internet technology and marketing. I love the work I do and consider myself lucky to get paid doing what I’d be doing for fun anyway.
I am based in Sacramento, CA which for anyone outside of Califonia is not near the coast. I don’t wear Burkenstocks and I don’t hug trees though I know many people that do. I have never surfed in my life.
I’m recently married and with that became a step-father. More recently I had my first daughter, Shiyla who I just can’t say enough good things about… probably because she doesn’t talk back yet like “the other one”. ;)
My wife is beautiful and compasionate and I did very well for myself there. In addition to our kids we have 4 dogs, 2 cats, 1 pig and a fish. Why do we have a pig as a pet? Because that decision was made before my time. But my wife insists she is “cute” so I guess that is good enough for me.
Oh, and we both drive Jeeps.
In my spare time I grow grass (not the kind you smoke) in the back yard (really). I even have a compost box going that is doing quite well. And I do other stuff around the house like rehang doors, paint rooms, move furniture and whatever else my wife finds for me that will stroke my ego.
I’m also very involved in advancing my community though programs that offer a “hand up” not “hand out”.
